It started with one trip. And one very lucky kid.
Henley was eight. She had some four-leaf clovers. So she started.
During a family spring break trip to Honduras, Henley saw families and children living in circumstances very different from her own.
βI felt very sad that kids and adults had ripped clothes and no place to shelter or live. I was scared for them. When I got home from the trip, I could not stop thinking about the kids, and I wanted to help.β
Back home in Maryland, she wanted to do something. Henley and her mom share an unusual talent: they are remarkably good at finding real four-leaf clovers.
That became the idea. Collect the clovers. Press them. Turn them into handmade bookmarks. Sell them to raise money for children in need. They called it Lucky4Love.
βThanks to your love, a little extra luck is going to a child in need.ββ the message on the original bookmarks
Her sisters, Adair and Meadow, immediately wanted in. They added homemade brownies and lemonade. That first neighborhood stand raised approximately $1,300 for Save the Children.
And Lucky4Love kept going.
